Which types can be done as same-day veneers?
Only the pressed Basic can be finished in one day. Build-up and Platinum, which are layered and fired by hand, need fabrication time, so we don't shorten them to the same day.

Amounts as of September 2026, VAT included (cosmetic treatment). All three are placed on top without preparation, so there is no anesthesia and no temporary teeth. Many people come after searching for “one-day veneers,” but rather than whether it can be done in a day, I first look at whether it suits the tooth. Other items are on the full fee list.
When can't it be done on the same day?
If any of the following apply, we don't proceed on the same day.
- Teeth stick out forward or there is a skeletal protruding mouth: placing veneers makes them look more protruding, so we don't do it, same day or not
- A deep cavity or root canal treatment is needed: we finish that treatment first
- The gums are swollen: the impression (scan) isn't accurate, so we let the gums settle first
- Grinding or a strong bite on one side: we don't decide thickness and shape in one day
- Alignment is far off: we first set the position with partial orthodontics
Even Basic can't be done every day. Some days the fabrication schedule is open, and if not, we postpone. We don't lower the conditions to fit it into one day. Veneers are for when the front teeth have gaps, are small or uneven left to right, or have discoloration that doesn't respond to whitening. If none of these apply, I recommend other treatment first, same day or not.
How does a same-day veneer day go?
- We look at proportions, the gum line, and the lip line with scans and photos and decide the right type
- We preview the finished look and adjust length and shape
- Only when needed, we very lightly smooth the surface and scan again
- You wait during fabrication, or come back depending on the schedule
- We place the finished restorations in your mouth to check color and shape, then bond them and check the bite
Even pressed ceramic isn't bonded as is; we refine the surface contours and thickness once more by hand. We don't skip checking steps to bond faster.
Can it be done on the same day together with whitening?
If whitening is needed, it's better not to finish both on the same day. Color right after whitening settles over several days, so if the veneers are matched to that day's color, they won't match a few days later. We do teeth whitening first and match the color after it stabilizes.
How we do it at Wonjin Dental
I don't start by fitting it into one day. I look at whether a pressed 0.3mm veneer suits the tooth and whether today is a day that restoration can be made. On days when same-day isn't possible, I tell you it isn't.
Even on the same day, before bonding we try several cement colors and check the bite. Porcelain veneers preserve more tooth than crowns, but they are hard to undo once done, so accuracy comes before speed. Frequently asked questions
Don't same-day veneers come off more easily?
Whether veneers come off depends more on the bonding surface, the bite, and habits like grinding than on whether they were done the same day. After bonding, it's important not to bite through hard things with your front teeth.
Can several be done on the same day?
More teeth mean longer fabrication time, so it depends on that day's schedule. How many to do is decided by the range visible when you smile.
Are same-day veneers less detailed?
After pressing, we refine them once more by hand. However, there is a difference from the hand-layered method, which varies translucency layer by layer, so for teeth with difficult color, we recommend Build-up or Platinum.
Can same-day veneers be changed to Build-up later?
Yes. If they were placed on top without preparation, they can be removed and remade, but the bonding surface needs to be cleaned up, so it won't be exactly the same as the first time. It's better to choose the type that fits the result you want from the start.
