How much do porcelain veneers cost per tooth?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells made and bonded separately for each tooth, so they're priced per tooth. The veneers Wonjin Dental mainly does are Brinate, placed without trimming the teeth, and they come in three types depending on thickness and fabrication time.
| Type | Thickness | Fabrication time | Price per tooth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brinate Basic | 0.3mm | Same day possible | ₩330,000 |
| Brinate Build-up | 0.1mm | About 1 week | ₩550,000 |
| Brinate Platinum | 0.1mm | About 2 weeks | ₩990,000 |
Prices as of September 2026, VAT included (cosmetic treatment). Other items can be found in the full fee list.
Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic treatment that changes shape and color, so they are not covered by insurance and VAT applies. Clinics display prices differently, so be sure to check whether a quote includes VAT.
How much do front-tooth porcelain veneers cost by number of teeth?
The price of front-tooth veneers is calculated by multiplying the per-tooth price by the number of teeth. So the total for someone getting 2 and someone getting 8 differs fourfold. The question I hear most in the treatment room is “How much to do them all?”, and I start by counting together how many teeth show when you smile.
| Number of teeth | Basic | Build-up | Platinum |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | ₩660,000 | ₩1,100,000 | ₩1,980,000 |
| 4 | ₩1,320,000 | ₩2,200,000 | ₩3,960,000 |
| 6 | ₩1,980,000 | ₩3,300,000 | ₩5,940,000 |
| 8 | ₩2,640,000 | ₩4,400,000 | ₩7,920,000 |
Sometimes only two gapped front teeth are filled, but to change the color, the teeth that show when you smile need to be done together so the boundary isn't noticeable, which usually means 6 to 8 teeth. How many you need is covered separately in the article How many front-tooth veneers do I need?
Why does the cost of porcelain veneers differ between clinics?
Differences in cost come from the material, thickness, fabrication method, and whether the teeth are trimmed. Regular porcelain veneers usually involve trimming 0.3–0.7mm off the tooth surface, taking an impression, fitting temporary teeth, and bonding 1–2 weeks later. The no-trim method doesn't need anesthesia or temporary teeth, but it can only be done when there is room to place a veneer on top of the tooth.
Even under the same name, what's included in a quote can differ. Ask whether diagnosis, temporary teeth, and adjustments after bonding are included. What to look at when comparing is described in detail in Why porcelain veneer prices differ.
When are there extra costs beyond the veneers?
If other treatment is needed before the veneers, that cost is added. Common cases are as follows.
- When the gumline is uneven: gum contouring ₩110,000
- When the tooth edges or corners need slight reshaping: tooth contouring ₩100,000
- When there are cavities: treat them first (composite ₩100,000–₩300,000, depending on location)
- When the teeth stick out forward: orthodontics first, such as partial orthodontics MTA ₩1,800,000
- When you grind your teeth at night: night guard ₩500,000
If the gums or cavities are in poor condition, veneers won't last long even once bonded. That's why I explain this order before the quote.
How we do it at Wonjin Dental
The veneers Wonjin Dental mainly does are Brinate, placed without trimming. There's no anesthesia or temporary teeth, and Basic can be bonded the same day. However, if the teeth stick out forward or the mouth protrudes because of the skeletal structure (protruding mouth), the more you place on top, the more prominent they look, so I don't do them.
In those cases, I explain other options such as orthodontics or front-tooth crowns. For reference, a front-tooth ceramic crown is ₩800,000 and a front-tooth zirconia crown is ₩700,000. Wonjin Dental is right by Gangnam Station Exit 1.
Frequently asked questions
Are porcelain veneers covered by health insurance?
No. They are a cosmetic treatment that changes shape and color, so they're not covered by insurance and VAT applies. However, cavity treatment or scaling done before the veneers is covered for items that meet the insurance criteria.
Is it cheaper with composite?
A composite covering the front surface of one front tooth (composite veneer) is ₩300,000. Composite is done in a day and easy to fix, but it discolors and wears more easily than ceramic, so it often needs touching up after a few years. For small chips or gaps, composite is often the right fit; to change both color and shape, porcelain veneers often are.
Will it be noticeable if I do just one?
When doing just one, matching the color and translucency of the neighboring teeth is the hardest part. Another approach is to whiten the neighboring teeth first and match that color. Whether one is enough is judged by looking at the condition of the neighboring teeth.
Do the more expensive types last longer?
Price doesn't determine lifespan. Lifespan depends much more on grinding, the habit of biting through food with the front teeth, and gum care. I'll tell you which type suits you after looking at your teeth and the change you want.
